For current WeatherBug users, you can sign into your account from the app if you like. But you can use it without an account. If you like what WeatherBug provides on your iPhone or iPad, download it for free on Mac too.

The application picks up the feeds from weather.com, which is widely considered as one of the best sources on the internet. You'll not only get 10 day forecasts and 2 day part info but also precise information such as real and feels like temperature, sky conditions, pressure, wind speed, humidity and UV. One little info it lacks though is predicted accumulation.

What I really like about WeatherDock though is the multiple display options. It can appear as a program window, a dock icon, a desktop icon or even a menu bar. The icons look really snazzy and are ideal to get a quick glance of the weather in your area. The menu bar is more discreet, but if you really want to dig into the details the best is to open up the program window.

If there was one drawback it's that WeatherDock only works with weather.com. It'd be great to be able to choose the weather feeds, as regional weather sites sometimes give out more precise information. On the whole though, weather.com is an excellent source, with detailed weather data.

WeatherDock displays weather information based on xml-feeds supplied by weather.com. It displays textual weather information as well as icon-based. Next to the current conditions it contains 10 day forecasts with 2 day-part's weather information.

Download and view animated weather forecasts, Weather Routing and Departure Planning for your next offshore passage; it is calculated on the PredictWind server with the highest-resolution forecast data, but the file size is incredibly small, making it ideal for transmission over low bandwidth satellite and SSB connections.

21 July 2005 Updates from the helmA couple of things have happened since the last update.First, another alpha version of the next major release of Meteo, Meteo 2.0a2, was released on June 5th. See the release notes and give it a try - but only if you're feeling adventurous - the version is still littered with numerous bugs.In addition, it appears that weather.com recently broke the search function for many European cities. The Meteo team will look into this soon to try to resolve the issue.Lastly, the FAQ has just been updated to include a question about adding radar to your list of weather items. Note that while radar it turned off by default, you can still add it! Just go over to the FAQ and see for yourself. [ Discuss... ]

16 January 2005 New format for weather.com breaks Meteo forecastsMeteo's data source is weather.com. Weather.com has changed its page again. This change prevents Meteo from parsing and displaying forecasts correctly. Only limited information is displayed (current temperature). The weather.com changes are site-wide and affect all locations and zip codes. Reports from Canadian, European, and US locations confirm the bad news.
